A successful person can not be disorganized in his entire life because it is a part of self-discipline and it needs to be followed. A good and friendly study environment gives you motivation for the study. You start feeling the energy to study by seeing your study table organized and clean. Otherwise, if your study area is unclean, it will need high willpower to sit in the chair for the study. Also, if lots of disturbances are present near your study room, then it will be very difficult to focus on the study and you will lose your willpower and mental energy to keep studying for a long time.
How to organize your study environment:
- Clean your space where you sit to study. For example study table, chair, floor, etc. because the unclean area will never motivate for study and you will try to run away from your study room. Just give a few minutes every day or every week to clean the area before studying. This small investment of time will help you keep going for a long time. Include cleaning your spaces in your daily routine.
- Keep all your study material and accessories near the study area. For example, keep all your syllabus and books at your desk. Also keep all other items like pen, paper, study tablets, water bottles, etc. near your sitting area. This way you will be able to get all the important items in one place and your mind will be at ease. Also, an organized area will motivate you to go and sit for the study. You will require very little energy to start the study.
- Remove or try to reduce the disturbances. For example, put your mobile phone in silent mode while studying, block the noises in the background, close the door while studying, etc. This will keep you focused on the study and your defined goal for a long time. If possible put your mobile phone in another room if not required for the required amount of interval.
- Apart from cleaning and organizing your physical environment, you should also organize your mind. For example, try to get rid of those thoughts in your mind that are unimportant and distracting. Always study in positive mindset.
- Avoid multitasking. Multitasking is a myth. No one can perform more than one task at once with complete focus. If you are trying to listen to music while studying, means you are directing your energy and focus to two different tasks. Hence your efficiency of performance will be divided. To avoid multitasking, just make one rule, one task at a time and this will help your mind to stay organized.
