These negative emotions should be faced and overcome in order to succeed. First of all, note down all the negative thoughts and emotions that currently exist. This will help you to evaluate your overall mood. Try to accept each and every negative emotion you encounter and do not try to fight with them. Just practice accepting these emotions because they will always be with you. The best way to deal with them is to observe your emotions and let them pass. If required, you can change the study environment to avoid negative emotions.
Read your mind and emotions associated with it and always avoid inner conflicts. This will save a lot of energy that you can use in your study. Also, if you have made the list of the negative emotions, then try to find the origin of these thoughts. For example, if you have fear of failure, this fear may originate because you have failed in the past. Just avoid thinking about your past failure and focus on your current goal. Even you can use past failure as a motivation towards your current goal. Do not repeat the same mistake that you have done before.
Replace negative thoughts with positive one:
Positive emotions like optimism, courage, intelligence, good sense of humor may help you beat the negative emotions. You can list down all your positive emotions and next time when negative emotions come, try to replace them with positive thoughts. Try to focus on your strength instead of weaknesses. No one can avoid negative emotion but the person who overcomes the negative thought can always perform better. Also, try to make your routine better and do not give time for negative thoughts.
When negative thoughts come, try to remember the things you have achieved in your past. You may have victories in your past but you forget them because of negative thoughts. Every student is special and everyone has already achieved many things in the past. Make yourself confident and never doubt your abilities. This kind of positive mindset will always provide you with the mental energy to move forward.
Small victories for students:
Try to create a positive mindset and habits for study. Sometimes students become frustrated when they are not able to complete the chapters. And they start doubting their abilities and negative thoughts start to flow in their mind. Students can overcome these negative emotions by dividing the difficult chapter into small sections. Try to complete a small task at one time and when you complete the section decided by you, you will feel victorious and this will give a feeling of accomplishment. Do not try to complete the whole chapter at once. Just complete a small section and feel the victory.
Believe me, the feeling of accomplishment gives lots of mental energy to the students. You might have already experienced that when you solve a question, you feel great and your energy level increases. That is the reason break your work into small tasks and complete them one by one to feel motivated. This will boost your self-confidence and will help you move forward towards your goal slowly.
